Why soy?
I choose soy wax for many good reasons. It's renewable, burns cleaner, and blends well with fragrances. Soy candles are better for the environment, non-toxic, and produce less soot than paraffin. Using soy wax supports U.S. farmers and helps the agricultural economy. Soy wax, derived from soybeans, is natural, non-toxic, and biodegradable. It releases fragrance longer than other waxes and lasts 25-50% longer than paraffin candles. It is water-soluble, making jar cleaning easy and supporting reuse. Soy candles produce up to 90% less soot than paraffin, keeping walls clean.
What Is Soy Wax?
Soybeans are processed by removing their husks and drying them into flakes, from which oil is extracted and hydrogenated. This hydrogenation changes the oil's chemical structure, resulting in a solid form at room temperature known as soy wax. The remaining husks are often repurposed as animal feed. Soy candles are crafted from soybeans, a sustainable and renewable resource cultivated by local farmers in various regions.
Are your fragrances phthalate free? What is a phthalate?
My Candles are completely free of phthalates. Although there are no rules prohibiting phthalate use in candles, I chose to avoid fragrances containing them. While the amounts of phthalates usually present in candles are not harmful to consumers or manufacturers, I believe that keeping things simple is the best approach
